Texture of the Shad Shape Worm

Anyone notice how soft these baits are with salt impregnated in them? Does anyone know how to get a bait that soft with having salt in the bait? Yeah I'm guessing softner added to soft compound?

You got it. Lots of softener, minimal fine salt.

Some of the bait companies use liquid salt as well. Results in a soft bait with fairly high salt content. From what I understand, this can only be added if doing large machine injection.
