EAT UP WITH THE D.A.
« on: 05/25/12 09:02 UTC »
OK I've never shot a tube that used anything but a Plain mandrel to make it hollow. What does the T ring and all that do for the Bait . The spline I get . Just a mandrel that splits the tails . Wouldn't ask but looks like I may need to order a couple molds . Be watching wearing my dunce hat.

The t-rig mandrel does not extend to the very tip of mold leaving about 1/2 inch of solid plastic.  This design allows for extra plastic making it easier to hold the hook when t-rigged.  I don't own the tube insert but my guess is that it leaves less plastic so you can insert the tube hook as far up the nose as possible.

Steve is spot on.  The T-Rig will leave around 1/2" head in the tube for a Texas Rig, the Tube jig will leave aprox 1/4" so you can insert the jig in the head.  The inserts are changeable so you can choose one or the other and always change your mind later.

There is also a blank that can be inserted in the spline if you want your tube solid.

We try and do things that make sense.  Sometimes we miss the obvious, but when we do, someone usually nudges us back on track.  We have a very smart and creative crew on here that doesn't miss much.

The other thing that is cool about our skirted molds is that they all use the same spline.  This is a pretty big deal as they are expensive.  If you like skirted molds you can buy a handful of them and reuse the splines in other molds by just changing the inserts.

Treat people better than you expect to be . 2  Your not going to get rich in this business unless you already are 3 The more versatile you are the better 4 Never underestimate the power of word of mouth 5 Say what you do and do what you say . 6 Never let quality suffer from supply and demand . You can see in the design of CCM products good values pay off .

Toadfrog, you must be from southern West Virginia! So am I and that's the only place I've ever heard people say "Eat up with the DA" instead of "Ate up"! Too funny! Thanks for the memories!! :D
