Berkley Blue Fleck
« on: 06/26/12 06:08 UTC »
Hey guys hope all is well. I have pulled my hair out trying to duplicate the Berkley blue fleck color. That color has so much depth. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Not sure what Berkley Blue fleck looks like but have you tried the X2 colors?
Last week I made a ton of blue colored Swimbaits using flo blue, blue and florida grape.

They really have a lot of pop to them.

The Berkeley blue fleck color has a deep red for the body and then where the tail is thin it changes to almost an orangeish red color. It has blue flake throughout the whole thing. Really similar to a new color from Zoom named plum apple.

The blue I lke is 2 drops of x2 flo blue and one drop of x2 flordia grape. Might try adding some red high lites to it.

Wow, I would have been WAY off on that one. Del makes a Blue Fleck color but it is not as red as that. Also, that flake looks green to me.... Time for glasses!!!!

LOL... I might have guessed junebug on that one..... Companies vary on this color 2 but most I have seen are loaded with small blue flake only. Color is really not that far off of junebug with red added to me...

OK... Got it!!! It is a plum color with small blue flake.....

Zoom just came out with it and it is close to their plum color but a little darker, ie more purple....

I would make plum. In 4oz of plastic mix 3 drops of black grape or florida grape, with equal amounts of strawberry, then add a few more drops (maybe 2) of black grape or florida grape. Load up with small blue flake and you will be golden!

I am going to make some tonight as I think this will be a good color to laminate something with as well as stand alone.

We are working on both of those colors and are pretty close.  We should have something in the store in a few weeks.

Nice Bill!!! I see green flake too. A few more drops of blue fleck and it would be dead on I think.

Del doesnt make colorants anymore. But his bluefleck was almost dead on. Any one notice how different Berkly colors are. Look at their smoke color. It's amber brown.
