Anyone ever try using pearls and flip flops as they were intended in the Auto painting busines?
I mean a solid base color of plastic and then a clear dip with the effects colors in them.
I think it would give more depth to the colors.
Or how about a solid base color and then put fine glitter in the clear and dip it. Kind if like a metalflake finish on a bass boat.
I also bought some flip flop pearls from an auto paint source. Flip flops make the color change depending on angle you look at it. They generally use a black base coat and then the powder in the clear coat. I have purple that turns to green and green that turns to gold. I tried adding these powders to different color plastic and did not get the effect I wanted. But should work in a seperate clear coat.
I may have to waste some plastic and experiment.
