I now have several colors of the X2 colorants in hand and today for a bit I got to go play with the Fl. Pink one. I thought I'd start with the drops per 4 oz shown on the color plate and work from there. I like a bold transparent pink and after getting the ten drop mix heated up I thought it could use a little more zing so I added five more drops and did the re-heat. Man....talk about an eye burner.
15 drops people....in 4 ounces of plastic. The other colorant took, and get this, 75 drops to get the same color depth in the same amount of plastic and by then it had begun to get opaque to some degree. The X2 is still as clear as glass. I shot a pile of baits in the nano and small fry and a minnow bait just for tail stock. Tonight I'm taking the tail bag to bed to see if I can read by it.
With the pink behind me I turned my attentions to the Fl. Orange. I went straight to the 15 drops for 4 ounces and hit on another hottie. The same molds got shot again just for tail stock. Then the X2 Chartreuse came out of my supply box. Same old, same old....same results.
The secoind and third colors I fiddled with today are again large volumn colors in the old colorant. While this may save me some money in colorant costs, its probably going to burn me on more plastic. But I can get over that. What I have to get used to is the clean, sharp colors that this X2 produces. These three are absolutely electric, they are that brilliant.
