Average weight of a bottle of X2 colorant 6.54 ounces. For those of you who used some out your bottle.

Cost of 1 bottle plus shipping $14.99 (worst case, if you only bought one item)

MY Tomato X2 = 6.381oz Starting weight(new)
                          6.37oz   After 10 drops
                         .011oz    difference
6.381/.011 = 580 batches in a bottle @ 10 drops

$14.99/580 = .03 cents per 10 drops

Sounds about right huh?

I like crunching numbers, but the major college-grade math is out of my department.  I'd be willing to give it a look-see and help if I can, Bro.

I'll work on CCM regular colorant and a few others that shall not be named. :o :P

Funny thing is my white x2 weighs double the average amount.. a whopping 11.7oz!

Kip, if You have a spare or emptied bottle and cap, weigh it so You'll know the weight of the bottle so You'll know just how much weight-of-colorant is there, and how much Your cost-per-drop is.  You're a better man than me Bro!  Me, I'd throw in maybe a dime or a nickel for Colorant Cost and let it ride...but that's just me.

I realize the .03 is what it cost us. I too would be around .07-.10 cents per 4oz batch. Don't forget, those that make 2 or 3 color baits should be charging .20 or .30 cents.
At .03 you would have to sell 580 4oz batches to pay for one bottle.

One condideration though is the ability to actually get all of the contents out of the bottle.  I have a couple bottles that are less than half full of the X2 and it will be interesting to see how much of it we can get out of the bottle.  It is very thick.  I think that when we get near the end of the bottle, storing upside down will likely get the majority out, but as will any liquid in a bottle, we will never get it all out.

I have a whole notebook on numbers. Glitter costs per 1:8th teaspoon and so on. When I get some free time I can share if others are as crazy OCD as me lol.

Fill empty bottle 1/2 full w/ raw plastisol and shake vigorously.  I would think that would clean it out well enough.  Of course who knows how many "drops" of colorant are left in the bottle at that point.

For squeezing out the last of your X2 colors, just drill a hole in a 2x4 big enough for your yorker cap, make darn sure the cap is on TIGHT, maybe even tape it, and stick it upside down in that hole over night.  You might be surprised....

There was a discussion on drop size while measuring colors a while back.  On colors it seems more logical to measure volume ( on liquid colors ).   I played with drops per 1/8 tsp and came up with an average of 20 drops per 1/8th tsp. for the way I open my bottles ( with a needle down the tip).   On glitter it appears as though they are measured by volume as well.  I have not weighed any glitter.  Nor have I tried to find the number of 1/8th tsp. in "2 oz." of glitter either.  Has anyone?

I was at .10 cents per 1/4 tsp of glitter.
