Dragon Tail (Tail Mold)?
« on: 02/01/13 21:33 UTC »
Just wondering if anyone knows when the tail mold for the dragon tails will be available to purchase.  I am afraid with the merger we might not see it in production and that would be a shame.  Thanks for any info guys.

Hi hollywood,

Welcome to the forum...

I can't really tell you when that mold might be available, or why it isn't currently at the site since this is all relatively new to the Do-It Team.

I can say that they are working very hard right now on building inventory of existing designs.  I can do some looking into it for you.  If there are some of them out there then there is likely a program for it somewhere right?... How many of those molds are you looking for?

I will only add that questions like this might be better answered by calling Do-It Customer Service at 319-984-6055 or emailing customerservice@do-itmolds.com  There will be many more resources there for answers to questions like this than I can offer "on the spot".

Thanks,

Jerry

Thanks for the response Jerry!  I will be looking at buying probably 4 depending on how many tails they shoot.  I would also be interested in a larger size mold for the dragon tail molds in both the 4.5 and 6 inch size.  I will be producing a lot of baits and having contrasting colors with body and tail in different colors is a must.  The separate tail mold would save a lot of labor time.  My company uses Caney Creek products exclusively.  Thanks for any info you might have.

Hey Hollywood,

Welcome to the forum.  It sounds like you know a little about pouring baits and I'd also guess that you are probably successful in your business.  I'd encourage you to participate in the forum so that we can not only suck out every bit of knowledge and experience you have, but also because you sound like a good guy.

Hope to hear from you again.
Until next time.

Denny

I am also looking for this mold. Do the 4.5" and the 6" dragon tail worms have the same size tail? I only have the 4.5" at this time.

From what I have read they have the same size tail.  It would be the perfect mold to have a separate tail mold for.  They tails have so much movement that a contrasting color in the tail makes them very effective!  Hopefully they can make it happen.

Welcome Hollywood and I would have to agree with you on the separate mold for the Dragon Tail.  We have the 4.5" and love it.  The tail mold would be a huge help on labor if they do decide to release it.  I thought they had one already, but it wasn't released. That was a while ago and before the merger so don't quote me on this.

I can't confirm it from my recliner, but I'm told that we have that file and should be able to get this thing running.  I'll see what I can do to get you some firm information before the weekend.

I think it's a great mold too.

I had posted pics up of some dragon tails. Jason had said there was a mold for the tails but they were not on the site yet. The link to the topic is below.

They are there... we ran a few of them today.  They're not at the site yet, but look for them very soon.  I shot the first couple to come off the machine this afternoon.  It's a nice little mold.

I have the tail mold and it shoots very well. It really speeds up production.
I didn't want to say anything until you found the file ...and ran a few...but if you have the Dragon Tail Worm...the Tail mold is a must have.
