looking for natural shad

im looking for natural shad.its a color used by kinami baits,ive bought them at walmart.the flash is a senko type bait.if anyone can help me with a recipe i would greatly appreciate it.

BEARS BAITS HAS A COLOR THATS CALLED SCUPERNOG AND IT WORKS WELL FOR NATURAL SHAD,I DONT REMEMBER MY RECIPE BUT I USUALLY USE 8OZ PLASTIC AND ABOUT 5-8 DROPS OF THE COLORING AND JUST ALITTLE SALT TO CLOUD IT AND WHAT EVERY FLAKES YOU WANT,IF YOU LIKE I CAN SEND YOU PICS AND MY RECIPE WHEN I GET HOME,JUST LET ME KNOW

Don't know if Bear's sells the Lureworks/Spike-It version of Scuppernong (sp?) they cut off all distributors of their products and now sell direct. I use it and it is a very nice lookin' color.

I ordered scuppernong from Bears a few months ago and think I got the wrong color.  I thought scuppernong was supposed to be a reddish color, but the one I got is a brownish almost black color.  I wrote to Bears a couple of times with no response whatsoever.  What is it really supposed to look like.  Anyone have pics?

I use this one from Spike It..believe it has a little purple and/or red in it.

If you snoop around the various sites and look thru the colorant section you'll probably find quite a disparity between the different site's colors even by the same name. And PC monitors can be pretty variable in what they show for colors off printed color plates.

I describe Scuppernog as a transparent "cola" color.

I would not consider it a shad color.

Here is Kinami Natural shad. Looks like a light smoke to me. Maybe CCM Pearl Silver?

i looked all through the colors and didnt see any silver at all,ill check again,guess im goin blind.

Lurecraft sells a pewter color that makes a nice natural shad.  I use 3-4 drops per cup and also put some blue hilite in it.

I actually like the Bear's scuppernog better, the Spike It one kind of looks like motoroil to me.  I would think a little silver pearl and some silver holo flake would  make a nice shad color.  I agree though, the one in the pic just looks like a light smoke with some flake in it.

Sorry but I though CCM had a silver smoke pearl colorant. Guess I was wrong.

Silver pearl powder from LC would work too.

scupernong is a grape grown in the Southeastern U.S.

I believe it has a greenish/bronze coloration.
