Flap Jack & surf fishing?
« on: 03/05/13 21:03 UTC »
Ok so do any of you saltwater guys out there use the 2.5 flap jack for surf fishing? Looking to expand my saltwater baits and I want to add something for the surf fishing guys..  (Currently the 3in skinny carrot is my best seller for the surf guys, they drop shot, c-rig, or fish it on light jighead)

Any input is higly appreciated..

Thanks Again,
Bill Mo

Sorry to hijack your thread, but while you have the salt guys here, I am looking
to buy a mold for reds, trout and snook.

We fish the shallow back water in the gulf.  Any suggestions for a mold and color selections?

Thanks, men.

If I want to throw a really small bait, I apply the 2.5" Carrot where I used to throw the small "Popcorn Beetles".  I throw the 3" Skinny Carrot for most of my small stuff but when I want a little thicker bait, it's the 3" Glider.  I prefer the 4" Skinny (4" Finesse Worm) on a Jighead, above all else in the Salt.  Tail-horizontal, that little Flapjack would be really tiny.  The 2.5" Carrot, IMHO, would be a more minnow-like bait, and a better choice/offering, unless You've had requests for a bait like the Flapjack and are lookin' for a smaller bait.  But my #1 straight-tailed bait in the Salt is the Skinny4.  Alot of guys prefer the Regular3.5.

Hey BKJ, Thanks for the wise words.. Most of the stuff on the west coast in the sufr is pearch and croaker. Small mouths, if you get a 14-16incher its a monster..  You do have my curiosity going with the 3" glider..
