Congratulations!  Now don't run into anything while you are absorbed in looking at "what's below".  I have my son keep a lookout if there is anything remotely close.

Nice. Good luck with it. Did you get the HD model with the brighter screen?

I guess not, I didn't know there was a HD model. Oh well, it should be ok, I mounted it in the dash.
The whole reason I brought this topic back was because I found a forum for Humminbird Depth finders. So with Jerry's permission, I can provide the link. There's lot of videos and helpful stuff. I hope ya'll check it out. I'm still waiting on my membership to be approved, so I can post Qs.

The only difference between the HD and non HD is the HD has an LED backlit screen which is brighter.

I have bad eyes and could not see my older model screen in the sun.

The non HD are discontinued and why you can get really good deals on them.

Did you get out with it yet? You wont be doing much fishing and too much playing and looking around at things :)

The box doesn't say hd, but it appears to be backlighted. I plan on going this morning I hope. It's supposed to be raining and clearing out around noon. I need to check the weather again.

Nice.

Something is interfering/blocking the transducer on the left side.

Could be hull turbulence.  Seems like a lot of air bubbles.  Slow speed though.

BTW, you know not to update it to the newest software? There is/was a problem with it.
