Bad Weather
« on: 04/09/13 07:12 UTC »
Huge storms will be rolling through the mid west today, if your close stay alert. If bad weather arises and you have the chance, please post here with an update of where and when. The app for this forum will come directly to my phone among others.

Thank you,

Drew

I'm in SE Minnesota. Yesterday we had almost 60 here. I went to the lake for a couple hours earlier today and it was at 38 degrees when I got there. Steady, but not heavy rain while I fished. The air temp went down two degrees, the wind got booted up, changed directions and snow started in with the rain.

Home now and we have a balmy 37 degrees here and rain with occasional thunder and lightning. I saw the weather map at 10 last night and it appears as though this could get ugly for us with snow.

Lets hope we all stay safe while Ma Nature brow beats us. lol.

Here's what we were dealing with a little earlier today at Do-It World Headquarters.

We've got a pretty good Southerly wind blowing since last night, here in the Gulf.  Seas are pickin' up.  Heard we may see 40 knot winds on Thursday (got reports of 50 kt. last week, at the end of Belle Pass Jetties).  Gotta keep fuel at the pumps.

I bet that made the metal roofs ring.  Just be glad Dorothy and Toto didn't swing by.

I just saw our local forecast for tomorrow and early Thursday. Dorothy and Todo might not be out of the question if she dons some wool leggings.

Supposed to be eighteen tonight.  It was sixty two when I woke up bout five this morning, and by eleven it was twenty six.  The wheat is jointing or has jointed and this freeze could smoke it.  Hope the ground is warm enough to help it.  We need a good wheat crop for the pocket book and the pheasants.  Joey

We are going to get ice first after the rain and then snow. Less than 80 miles from home they are white and getting whiter. We're still in rain/ice mode.

We had a series of major league boomers roll thru last night, wave after wave of them. That alone has the creek behind me looking mad this morning.

We have about an inch of white slush this morning and 31 degrees. According to the weather map I use we are right on the bottom edge of this pile of garbage and its heading due north. This should mean some sun later. Maybe. Hopefully. Let the guy clean the sidewalk that put it there.

Sounds as though St. Louis got nail with tornadic weather and a pile of damage during the night. I haven't heard a lot of the details but man nobody needs storms like that.

The weather over the last two years has really been on a roller coaster. From what I had read this year is going to be a close re-peat. Since I am not sitting in the boat in short sleeves today enjoying 78 degrees like last year, I hope the predictions for this years weather holds together and maybe we'll be able to climb out of this drought.
