Black platinum?
« on: 04/14/13 12:24 UTC »
I was ordering hooks again this morning and noticed that Eagle Claw has a 570 style jig hook in a "black platinum". I just about ordered a 100 but held off. Has anyone used or had any experience with this hook?

I like my Matzuo Sickles and will always stick with those unless something comes along that might be a better hook. Its been my experience that Eagle Claws don't always add up to the hype they get so I'll probably hold of until I see something positive written on them.

The black platinum is  a super hook, however the lazer black platinum is greater! (L570BP) This is my number one hook now. I like it better than the Matzmos.

For panfish i stick with sickles.  The new ECs that Gary mentioned get my thumbs up for other fishies though.

The Laser's are a real eye opener for cost. Hot-diggity.

I do everything panfish this time of year and will stick with the Mats for this time around. I might order a couple sizes to try in pannie heads later on when I don't have fish[ing] on my mind.

I used sickles in all of my heads done in the Teardrop mold with the keeper wires. If I like the L570's in smaller sizes I may get some to do more teardrops for fall fishing.
