Mr. Ryan's first
« on: 05/24/13 16:37 UTC »
Aawww heck this ain't his first fish... It's only the first he's caught on a hand made bait from a Do-It Soft Baits mold.  You all have to know that this fish came from a small creek in his back yard, not a large body of water what so ever.  As I understand it you could spit across this creek, but take a peak at what resides...

20 some inches of pure goodness released shortly after the photo op.. The 3" Carrot strikes again.  I can speak to the fact that Ryan was very pleased with the results.  Here's hoping you all have a blessed weekend as well.

Nice stream fish --  the carrot strikes again.
Nothing like catching a fish on a bait you made yourself.

It just doesn't get much better than that.  Congrats, Ryan.
Until next time.

After a marathon gardening session orchestrated by Ma I stole away with the rod to the river behind our house. With the recent high water issues we've seen, the walleyes have started to become common up our way from the lake 12 miles away. I was actually casting a jig on a safety-pin spinner for crappies and managed to have to unhook a nice 19 inch waldo before the lady found me and re-issued  some extra chore instructions.

The weather say rain for the next seven days, which will equate to no garden duty. And she won't chase me down in the rain.

Lmao!

I've seen some big smallies come from shallow water depths I wouldn't expect to find good fish in.
