I poured some bellies then injected the second color in a small fry today.there voids where the belly and the second color meet and you can pull apart easy.I poured the bellies at 330 and shot the second color at 350.what am I doing wrong?

Often its just a matter of time let them sit longer than normal to allow for a good bond that's what i've found.

You may want to try holding some pressure down on the injector after it stops filling the mold on the second color. A ten count of pressure is about long enough.

You don't mention which formula of plastic you are using. The easiest to get to bond is the soft formula. The firm is the worst, in my opinion. Try using some junk plastic and keep tinkering until you get a good weld, then step up to good plastic.

I do some laminates that way. I de-mold mine and drop them immediately in water to cure. I don't have a separating problem. May be due to the quick cooling in the water. I also make sure my molds are not cold when poured or shot.

I don't think you have to be shooting on a griddle. I guess burns would make me shy away from that practice.

I forgot to ask....are you trying to seperate the colors right out of the mold? If you are, don't. Let the plastic get to room temperature or chill them with the water first. warm plastic is weak plastic.

One of the biggest keys is not to shoot a cold mold I heat mine to about 250 in a toaster oven

When I do a full lament there is no problems its only when I try to pour the belly lament when all this happens.there's a little void right behind the belly, the front is bonding good.

Sometimes I have the same problem, and if it's just me fishing them, I will touch it up with a lighter to bond them after I demold them. Otherwise I clear dip over the eyes all the way back onto the beginning of the legs to keep everything together. Also try shooting the second color a little hotter to make a good bond.
