Blending Block

Good Morning guys,
I hope everyone is having a fun and safe Labor Day Weekend. I was milling through all the sites and on of the questions I have is about blending blocks. I get the idea, to shoot 2 colors at once. But I have many questions as far as my possible use. As you most likely know I shoot small baits, so my questions are;

1) Is a blending block something that can be used on smaller baits?
2) Do blending blocks work with all molds?(Do-It, Jacobs, Bears?)
3) Is there one blending block better than others?
4) Are my Do-It injectors compatible?
5) Do blending blocks make laminates or the "swirl" color I have been seeing or both

Morning Brent! Happy Labor Day weekend to you!

1) Yes it can be use for small baits. Just make sure the colors contrast a lot for them both to show up well
2) The blending block works better on lures that are symmetrical. For example, I have used it on the 3.5" swim shad, but I was not a fan because the belly is deep so the laminate line it not straight. I am sure it is not a big deal to some people, but I like clean smooth lines. I have heard before that BT made all of their injection molds so that they work with their twinjector.
3) I have only used the BT one, so I cannot answer for the others.
4) Your Do-It injectors should fit but to get a good laminate you need the crossbar so that you are pushing both plungers down at the same time and the same speed.
5) You can do both laminates and swirls with the twinjector. I loosen the plunger balls on the injectors and switch back and forth pushing out the plastic.

I think the twinjector system is well worth the money. It takes some time to get the hang of it, but once you do you get awesome results. I hope this helps!

I have a love hate relationship with BT's twinjector.  When it works well, it's fantastic.  More times than not, however, it's jerky and doesn't want to inject smoothly.  I'm pretty sure I don't have it adjusted properly, but I don't know what I'm missing.  I think I've tried everything.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hey Denny! Maybe try lubing the o-rings and then pump the plungers a couple of times to lube the injector walls. I have heard of guys leaving the plastic in the injector and letting the oil from the plastic lube the injectors. Also I loosen the top caps about a half turn. That really helped me get it working great. I hope this helps!

Thanks, Jbob.  That's a neat looking new doodad to have in the shop.  I looked at the videos and it sure looked like it shot smoother than what I've been going through.  I'm definitely going to keep my eye on it.
