Hey Dennis...good looking website.  We have so many turkeys around my place we don't need a turkey call because we call them by name..."Hey, Henry (short for Henrietta) get out of the garden"..."Where did you get all those babies, Glory?"  Well, you get the idea.  Welcome to the forum.

Lol turkey hunting would be so much easier if you could just call them by name  :o I started with the call making about 3 years ago. After almost loosing a finger to the table saw this weekend I almost decided to quit. Only problem is I have a few local stores that depend on me to supply them with a hand crafted product... I have however decided that bait making is a lot safer  ;D

Dennis, can you make a crow call? I have one but after you use it a few times the sound changes. Those birds are always in my garden, but when I try to sneek out to get'em, they fly off.

hi all from Australia
I live in a beautiful part of NSW called Jervis bay it is a fantastic bay teaming with marine life we also have the shoalhaven/crookhaven river systems 25k north, fresh water fishing 50k west, salt water river and ocean pelagics on my door step it is only 5 minutes to the boat ramp into the bay
i have been a fish monger for 10years or so, after that became to much of a drain on my family life (80-90hrs p/w) i moved to one of my other passions hunting. I started wild harvest of kangeroos. Yes we kill and eat the animals off our coat of arms. This is all done under spotlight at night and all safe food handling rules apply even though you are out in the paddock. The market co-lapsed thanks to some overseas intrests putting pet food grade (as apposed to human consumption quality) into there prison system and subsequently nearly killed 1/2 of there inmates so no more roo meat to Russia it counted for about 40% of all exports gone. in my last financial year i shot (head shots only out to 350m) field dressed and weighed is over 10000 roos which is about 2+ tonne a night (20-70kg dressed) @80c kilogram.
i now have an oyster farm, a small bait company and sell soft plastic lures in my spare time. The lures are proving to be most lucrative and great fun and more and more effort and time is going into it all the time.
I don't know how this fits into your national geographic scale but it has been a great adventure for me so far and wouldn't change it for the world.
thanks for taking the time to read my story

My Full-time job is a Meat Manager for a grocery chain here in the Midwest. I learned the trade right out of high school. I have been Managing for the last 10+ years, prior to that I had been a meat-cutter. I am just glad I still have all my fingers intact...had some dandy cuts and stitches early on in the career. You need to have a ton of respect working with band saws, knives, etc... on a daily basis or trouble is waiting around the corner, that said, I don't want any accident to mess with my passion for bass fishing or I 'll be in a world of hurt - no pun intended

My full time job right now is a Flooring Salesman at Home Depot.  However my love is music and right now I'm out on the road playing bass guitar with two guys, Jimmy Needham & Trip Lee (Christian artists), on what's called the Grace Amazing Tour.  In the past I've played with Ryan Cabrera & also on a few lower budget records.  But deffinately one of my favorite acts to play with is my dad (Dallas Holm).  I've been playing on tours with him whenever I can since I was in high school.

Police officer and licensed fishing guide in PA.  I make my lures for fun and give them to friends so we are throwing something different than everyone else.

I've been a union carpenter for 18 years but the last 3 have been tough. I build custom rods & that's the only thing keeping me alive! Built 85 last year. Started my own sub-contracting co this past summer & keeping busy for now & hopefully working for myself will allow me to fish more. Been coaching girls softball the last 6 summers & helping with marching band the last 5. Funny when they find you can build something you become very popular! Bought my molds last fall but just now able to pour. Really enjoying making my own baits & hope to use them to my advantage! Been fishing bass & walleye tournaments for 10 years or so & going to start fishing crappie tournaments this year.
