A couple of Trokar Arky Jigs
« on: 10/11/13 12:23 UTC »
Here are a couple of viciously nasty 3/8oz arky jigs poured with 4/0 60 degree Trokar jig hooks!! The top jig is green pumpkin black, it has a 52 strand skirt made up of 42 strands of bio-silk silicone in green pumpkin and 10 strands of natures edge silicone in green pumpkin. The head is painted with protec green pumpkin powder paint and the black dots were done with a Component systems quick change lure marker in black. The bottom jig is what I call "gunsmoke", the skirt is 52 strands made up of 42 strands of flat black bio-silk silicone and 10 strands of smoke/blue flake glitter silicone. The head is painted with a custom color I blended together which didn't show up to well but anyway, it is Columbia coatings silver vein powder mixed with a little bit of protec smoke and then protec candy blue is put on over top. The smoke powder mixed with the silver vein paint I did by accident one time, I was using smoke powder in a fluid bed and when I was done I was going to paint a few jigs with the silver vein out of the jar as it doesn't work to well in a fluid bed, well I had the silver vein jar opened along with the smoke and I took the fluid bed cup and dumped some of the smoke in the silver vein. The result is a dark silver with faint traces of black veins, and when you add just a small amount of candy blue over top you get a great "blue smoke" color. The quick coat lure markers are actually paint and what is awesome with those is you use them after powder coating, you can then cure and it bakes right in with the powder, really good product and all my larger jig heads are also coated with Devcon 2 Ton 30 minute epoxy for even more durability.

I've got some bio-silk just sitting here that I've got to start using.  Your jigs make me want to do that.
Until next time.

OH BOY, are those some fish stickers right there.  A real weapon, in fish catching colors and a hook that will flat out increase your fish landing percentages, I had a Staffer tell me just today how, as a co-angler, he out-fished not one but two boaters this past tourny season using that very jig.

I can tell you that there was a lot of thought behind the design of that arky jig as it is different but the difference is very subtle but it it will make a big difference in the water. I noticed that it sat different that other arky jigs and after pouring them I know what make this a killer jig, it has a small round disc shaped spot on the bottom right behind the weedguard. When I put it in the tank with a trailer on it I found that buy putting slight pressure on the jig you could make it tile forward without moving itm very similar to a football jig, in fact this will work in the same areas as a football jig. This tilting action is going to allow for dragging presentations, something that didn't work with a regular arky jig as they are meant for lift and drop in brush, wood, and rock, this arky you can drag which makes it totally different that any other arky head jig, this will be a killer!!!!
