Needing advice

Hey all...I am new to this hobby and was seeking advice as to why my baits are easily tearing. They tear with not much effort. I am using CCM medium formula plastisol, medium injector, and 4" wuzit mold. I would appreciate advice on this addicting hobby. These baits will be used in saltwater. Also, I added a tablespoon of HD sinking additive before cooking my plastic. Thanks.

How well have you shaken your plasitsol? have you tried without the hd additive?

i did mix the plastisol well, but have not tried cooking the plastic without the HD sinking additive. I will try it out. Thank you for responding.

The HDA should have made the plastic tougher.  Salt is what allows it to tear easily.  You didn't say how hot your plastisol got before you poured it.  You've got to get it to 350*.  Were you pouring laminates?

Keep us posted, Flats.  We'll put our heads together and get this figured out.

I let the plastisol get to about 355-360 degrees before injecting it. At this moment I am not doing laminates and did not add salt.

I am using a Taylor digital thermometer. I also just ordered the firmer CCM plastic to see if that would correct the problem. Thanks for everyones help.

I know you said you mixed it well,  but you need to make sure you don't leave any of the resin still stuck to the bottom of the jug. This is your hardener.  If you can get some kind of mixing paddle in there you can get it mixed better. Are your baits sticky at all? Like Denny said,  the HD additive will toughen your baits considerably. For saltwatet use I would think hard formula would be better.
