Wondering what kind of salts you guys and gals use for impregnating the baits i.e. sea salts coarse/fine, pickling salts coarse fine, regular table salts? do you use the same in the bag once they are poured? thanks I looked back a couple pages on the forum and saw nothing on this although I am sure it has been discussed at some point

There are a number of threads on using salt...although I'll warn you...a lot of us don't like using it!

I personally really (really!) like using the HD Sinking additive. It makes the baits sink like salt (see the post from Bill were he tested it and found that 2 tablespoons in 4 oz has the same sink rate as Senko), and makes them a LOT tougher than standard plastic. Salt has a really bad habit of making baits very fragile!

For the bass baits I use it in I don't see a difference in action.

You want to find the finest salt. Pickling from Walmart works well but baits wont be durable (like a real Senko). Powdered salf from bears makes a slightly more durable bait but makes the plastic cloudy white and opaque.

With salt you need to add softener to counteract the way salt makes the plastic stiffer.

Try 4 oz medium plastic
2 heaping tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon softener

These were made with HD additive and from my expierence or lack of... there is no way to get a bait this "bright" heavy and tough with salt. I highly reccoment it!!!

Only reason to salt the bag is so the baits dont stick and are easier to get in the bag. It will wash off as soon as the bait hits the water.
