Trout trip next weekend
« on: 01/05/14 19:11 UTC »
Next weekend I'm going trout fishing and have always used power bait or meal worms for them but have never used plastics. What does everyone think about them? By the way it's in a trout stream. And I wouldn't mind buying a few packs of the best recommended bait!! (Won't be in time this weekend but it'll happen more than once!)

I love white marabou jigs in 64th ounce but have done purdy good on the 1 3/4 fry with a 32 ounce head. I'm sure the nano would kill them. I also like the trout magnets Do it ,makes a mold with the sloped head just like the trout magnets use.

I thread the body that comes with on just a touch to much. So instead of it laying flat, it kinda makes a c shape. I've caught em with it laying flat as well. Oh a small roster tail is very hard to beat!

i use the 1.75" fry, BT crappie stingers, JB 2.25" minnow, and of course trout works in 2 sizes.. if you want some samples PM me your address and I will send you some..  If you are going to buy store baits i agree with MO.. The trout magnet is a good one, and the Berkly Atomic tubes.  we use light line here on the west coast, 2lb test, 1000 series reel with a good drag, and I use an 8 foot Phenix Elixer(the old model).
