Upper hand hawg and anise

Just bought a bottle of this and wondering if anyone has reviews and or success stories? And I'm wondering if it acts like worm oil if applied to a bag of baits? Thanks ahead of time!

I haven't noticed a huge difference in the catching ability of the baits, but I didn't have a lot of time last summer to test it out.

I usually cook the scent into the baits and also use it exactly like worm oil when I bag the baits.

I've been doing some work with UpperHand's CherryBomb scent. I've offered it two ways: cooked in and as an oil added to the package. The added scent is doing a better job of selling baits.

From the standpoint of preference on my part, adding the scent to the package is the clear deal. I don't end up with scraps or partial bowls that have an odor to them. A simple rinse in alcohol gets rid of the smell should persons not want to have it. If its cooked in its there to stay and offers no alternative. If a person is making baits for personal use and wants to cook the scent in, have at it. From a market standpoint, adding scent to the package just makes more sense.

Tom. Do you notice when you cook it in the scent is very week? My finding is that its just cooking out. I could see were if you mix it in thr pyrex it doing better. From a consumer stand point scent is expensive. And I find along with many others you get a better bang for your buck not cooking it. If you want to cook it have at it. Imo its a waiste.

thats because thats what they know. plastic will absorb the scent like mad. Thus the reason the bag drys out. Now maybe ccm plastic wont absorb I have not tried it. The plastic I use you will absorb pretty much what gets put in the bag within reason. Best to bath the bait before bagging imo.

I haven't noticed that the scent comes out as weak when cooked in but I know it takes more when cooked in. I honestly think that scents are far more effective as a add-in rather than a cook-in.

My point exactly. I imagine if you cooked in the same amount as you post added. It would seem weaker. I can see it being effective in the pyrex post heat pre inject. So I guess there are variables to consider determining cook or not.

Thanks guys. I don't like cooking it in either. But it does do the same as worm oil post cook? I'm not a huge devotee on scent but it aids in smell to my liking and I'm 99% sure it doesn't have any adverse effect on fish catching but then again, it might help catch fish! Plus my friends like it

1/2 tsp of scent cooked in 8oz will let you be able to smell it pretty good.This is the same amount I use in both bass & panfish baits. The hawg/anise is the one I have the best luck with that I can cook in.I use another sent that also works amazingly but cant cook that one in as its not a oil type scent

I have used several Upper Hand products and love them.  In my experience, bagged baits over time almost get a stickiness to them with UH.  For personal use that is just fine.  If you are packaging for sale you may want to experiment with it first.  Some of that stickiness may have been a combination of the scent and the brand of plastic I was using at the time (prior to CCM Plastic).  Hawg and Anise was always my favorite.  I am more of a straight anise fella anymore though.

Anyone else have the problem of the baits getting sticky? How long after it is added does this occur?? I'm using ccm crystal clear plastic. If this is a thing with scents are there any other oils that don't do this? Or any that don't absorb into plastic?
