When you guys take your baits out of the molds do you put them in water to cure?  Please state reasons to or not to.  Thanks

I use cookie sheets and lay the fresh plastics out on it and use a toothpick to straighten tails or legs or anything I want to cure straight. Small baits up to and including the 1.75" small fry and other baits in that range I allow to set for 24 hours at room temperature. Frogs and toads and baits to 4" I allow maybe 48 hours at room temp. I will use a refrigerator in the summer to hasten the process of the larger baits but a day in the garage right now at about 10 degrees works wonders too.

The only time I use water is to set clear plastic after dipping eyes.

For swimshads,Big foot toads & other baits that can be hung i use this. using a clothes pin you can let the bait hand down & strait.this works for baits after theyve been clear dipped. it may seem dumb but it works & saves from having to build something

I use pegboard and hang via the sprue. Ill cure fat baits in water. Some say dont use water with salted baits. Water doesnt hurt unsalted baits at all and keeps them from flat spotting etc when lying them down.

I toss my unsalted baits in water as they come out of the molds, then lay them out on a table when I'm done making them to finish curing. ------Tim.
