Do-It's UV powder
« on: 02/05/14 14:12 UTC »
How many of you have tried this product? I have been playing with this product for a couple weeks now and all I can say is wow. This stuff is potent.

Most of you know I like the clearer pearl bellies with some fire opal micro glitter tossed in and I then add a uv product. The liquid absolutely takes a back seat to this new powder when it comes to potency. I have been adding less than a match head sized ball of the powder to a 4 ounce cup of plastic to pour bellies and the edges of the cup are absolutely shining blue from the powder. And that's with the cup indoors and out of direct sunlight. Its amazing. And the powder that starts out as a light yellow is 100% clear as a bell when cooked in.

In working with the powder I have found that it is plenty good enough to go light in dosage, otherwise the blueness of the plastic starts to wash over the real color of the plastic if it is used as a cover dip. What might look like too little under a black light says it all. Cooked into a colored plastic is just as effective. Break a tail off and look at the broken end in black light and it looks like a halogen bulb in your hand.

For those who are going to get the uv powder, add this stuff slowly since very little goes a very loooong way in sunlight. And what might seem as expensive for an additive, the meager dosage will make using this product very, very affordable.

X2 on the potency. my best advice i can give others is to get your plastic cooked then either add it to clear or get it colored depending on what youre doing under a black light.Adding it a little at a time under the black light to get desired UV effect will help form ''Super Punching'' it with UV

I have been useing UV stuff for the past year and some change.  I havent tried Do-its.  I use a liquid form from another place.  X2 on what Dobs said.  Everytime I turn on the UV light it looks like a CSI crime scene in my shop.  Man that stuff get everywhere and you dont even know it.

This happens to me when I do my glow ice plastics. Those annoying little bits of plastic that get shuffled around get fired up when the lights are on then when we turn the lights out at night everything that you don't want or know is there lights up.

this one?

Yves, that's the powder paint... (Jerry told me that will only turn into a glob of junk in your plastic)... call and ask for the plastic UV powder - it's not in the current catalogue, but it is on the shelf... I HIGHLY recommend it!
