Fishing in the summer Olympics.

Ok so they have added a few new sports to the Winter Olympics.  Who thinks they should add Bass fishing to the summer Olympics?  I think it would be great for the Olympics and the fans.  We would get to see what the other countries are bringing to the sport.

Only one small hitch in your plan..... not all countries have bass. I think most do. I think carp are more wide spread and popular. How awesome would it be to see Kevin or swindle lip two 30 pound gum mouths at the wiegh in lol

could always just be sport fishing! Depending on where the Olympics are depends on the target fish like snakehead in Asia, tiger fish in Africa, or peacock bass in South America!

Wouldn't really be fair if the species changed.
The host country would hold a huge advantage.
That and the fact not every Country having bass makes this a difficult issue.
I don't see why they couldn't have casting distance and accuracy though. Or possibly some other fishing related events.

Personally, I don't think it would work.  Fishing really isn't a spectator sport and I don't know how many expensive tickets would be sold to watch somebody else fish.  You'd have the blastoff and the weigh-in, but what about the six hours in between?
Until next time.

Camera on every boat with a live feed streaming.  Or use a big party barge to take people around. To watch on the water.

Sell beer, have band and dancing and ....there's lot of thing to do between when a bass angler leaves shore and returns again.

If people. Will sit and watch sword fighting with antennas,  then I bet they would sit for a few hours to watch fishing.  Or it could be set up like the Jack Links tournaments. That would be cool.
