We just use straight watermelon (NB) with .008 red flake and a pinch of .040 black.  I'm sure there are variations but Watermelon Red should be a staple in your box and work just about anywhere you fish.  Besides carrots, worms, craws and creatures, one of my favorites is using this on a Wutz-It with a pearl belly.  If you can't catch a fish on that you need to make sure you aren't in your bathtub.   ;D

If you are making a "stick" bait with lots of salt, you will have to add extra colorant to counter the salt effect.

I use a combo of watermelon and watermelon brown colorants for mine.

There are hundreds of ways to do it. I suggest you figure out a color you like and stick with it vs doing Zoom's, Culprit's, Strike King's etc... Just not worth all that!

Mine is very dark because I fish a lot of muddy water, but here it is: 4 oz. plastic, 5 drops lc watermelon, 9 drops bears scuppernog, 1 pinch of .035 black and 1 pinch .035 red. You could probably cut back the scuppernog and maybe add a little extra watermelon if you want it lighter.

You can tell everyone as long as "everyone" doesn't include my wife!   :-X
