4 inch ????? probably the 4 inch

slow down hold the pressure for a bit maybe 10 sec...

can't remember if there's a vent on the toes or no.

No vent in the top foot. Take a hacksaw and carefully cut a vent for the top of the foot and you'll have no more problems with it.

I have a 3" croaker and get some bubbles once in a great while when using stiffer plastic. I also put in a vent on each paddle, midway between the end of the leg and the tip of the paddle, on the un-vented side. I used a jeweler's file with a sharp edge to do this....works slick. The venting doesn't have to be big, just enough to help get air out.

Inject cooler and SLOW.  You're not having venting issues.  You're trapping air.

"You're trapping air".....per BKJ

I had a small problem just like this and as soon as I added the extra venting it went away. I tried the slow inject, cooler/warmer plastic, different plastic formula, the whole gamut before I added the extra vents. The extra vents made this issue go away. Trapping air is certainly an issue that venting can be blamed for.

Mr. Toms solution will absolutely solve your problem if the existing vents are in the wrong place.

But what is usually happening with this "phenomenon" is the issue will occur on the top/sprue-side foot...because...let's look inside the mold...the hot/thin plastic is coming from the leg then trying to fill the widening cavity that is the foot.  To fill this top foot correctly, the plastic has to enter the foot-cavity, spread and push air at the same time, while NOT "falling" into the foot-cavity faster than the plastic is being fed and NOT faster than the air is being pushed out completely.  Cooler/thicker plastic is better able to fill without falling and plugging the vent before all the air has escaped.  Every time I have the problem, the void is on the "round" of the foot deep inside the cavity where only drilling a hole could vent and help the issue.

Don't clamp the back near the feet.  You only need one clamp for the whole mold.

I was going to throw this out too but I had to get to work.
