These are 1/16oz minnow heads with a #4 sickle hook painted in "mud minnow" pattern which is just a fathead minnow. I tied in some barred UV predator wrap first to provide a subtle flash, and then tied in white marabou for the body and finished it off with a plum of olive brown marabou for color and bulk. These will be used in the next week or so as my friends that trout fish on lakes are telling me they are beginning to get crappies on spinners and minnows, when that happens these minnow head jigs fished under a float become players. This is one of the few times I go out to target crappie specifically, there is just something about seeing the float go down when all that was under it was a jig. If these don't work I'll take the same jig head with nothing tied to it and thread on a small plastic fry and fish it the same way, most of the time plastic will work when hair doesn't.
