Okuma trio

Been looking at these reels for awhile and can seem to stay away from them. The construction of them just screams built to last and I don't mind the weight at all. But looks can be deceiving...  Can't really decide on if it is the one I want though. Between this and the shimano Sahara. Both are in my budget and at my local dicks so they will work for me!
Here is the okuma trio
Has anyone used these reels? Honest reviews are welcome.

Also, I wondering if I should get the okuma trio bait feeder and what size to get. I'm in need of a new bait runner for surf and pier fishing at the beach but again, can't decide. I've heard penn and shimano are good but the trio beats the heck of out them lol. This is the okuma bait feeder Reviews on this too are very welcome!!

weight is EVERYTHING..... I like the lightest set ups I can get. The weight of the reel will also determine how the rod will balance out, I'm not sure what you fish for, but I target pan fish, bass, walleye, and pike /muskie and with all of them I look for the lightest set up possible.

The weight wouldn't be too much of a problem because the heavier one (bait feeder) would just be surf fishing lol. The one for bass fishing isn't heavy at all to me. I'm more on the durability side than weight

I have had one for a couple years.  It's on one of my shaky head rods.  Held up well, looks cool.  Had a lil more trouble with fluorocarbon on this reel than others though.  Seems to have more line twist, at least for me.  Nanofil with a leader solved that.  I think you would be happy with it and the price is right.  Haven't used the bait feeder, but okuma products seem to be well built.  Hope this helps, Joey

I have 1 left out of 4 that I owned. I don't care for them at all. Line twist something fierce using monos and fluoros. I've donated three to groups looking for reels for kids to use. I used the last one this morning and need to go take the line off and get a twist/loop out of it. That's about a us eit-fix it thing with that reel. My Shimanos don't create any issues like the Okumas have/do.

I don't know about the Okumas, but the Saharas are great little reels. Highly recommend them.

I just decided to one up the Sahara an go for the symetre. Pairing It with an ugly stick gx2 7' medium power. Going to try out 10lb braid on it. If I'm not happy I'll probably use 8lb fluoro like usual lol.

Thanks for the advice on shimano guys. In time I'll probably test the okuma

I HAVE BOTH THE OKUMA TRIO S 30 AND THE 40s MODEL.. HAD TO SEND THEM BOTH BACK FOR WARRANTY WORK. WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER AGAIN!!!!!!!! i fish every weekend if i can..  the okuma trios is a nice looking reel.. thats what i think got me? or maybe the price cause i got them on ebay for about 54 bucks a pop.. they were nice when new.. high speed and smooth,, but they both went downhill fast,, i went back to my trusty dusty  shimano sahara, saros ,symetre  reels..  maybe you will have better luck with them???

I just picked up a couple 1000 Saharas last night. One to replace the aforementioned Okuma. I put a backer line on using 6 pound mono that I keep around for this purpose. Then I topped off the final 50 yards with nice new Berkley XL clear in 4 pound.

I replace a couple reels every year. I have 6 or 7 Saharas in a drawer that have nothing at all wrong with them other than being ten or twelve years old and used hard.
