Ruby Slipper
« on: 05/20/14 11:50 UTC »
This is a Do-It product that I just got a bottle of and had to try it out. As a rule red and I are not good companions but I think I'll have to make an exception with this one.

Here you can see the finished product, not yet baked nor do I think I will. Man, has this paint got depth to it. In the sun it looks an inch thick. I don't know how the fish will take to it but I will be finding out this week later. One would think in murky water this color should be a killer.

Nice work in getting this color formulated Do-It.

One of my favorites the one in front is plain red but the polar bear and mallard look better with the Ruby Red!!

Here's the alewive. I like this one too.

I snapped this picture, then tied a ruby and an alewive on a couple rods in the boat so they're good to go.

I've had a jar of Ruby Slipper powder for awhile now.  I want a Red Head for a few applications, and although those applications are few, they're borderline mandatory.  White body with a Red head is a classic in Inland Salt (ever fish a White/Red Boone Spinana?).

I can think of a few others, but I'm the same...me and Red aren't the closest pair.

I have used Ruby Slipper since it came out and find it to be very attractive and effective color.  If your heat is a little too high it will scorch, but that is my fault.  It makes for some very nice jig color combos.

I tend to find the finished product looks nowhere as good once baked, unless I do at a lower heat.
Nice colour though.
