This sucker is BIG.....

I thought the 4" Big Foot was a clunker, but this 4" Croaker is something else. It seemed as though I was filling a tire with plastic. lol But I like it and some people who asked about the animal like it too.



It certainly takes some getting accustomed to shooting this bait. Between the Big Foot and this Croaker they are the two largest volume molds I have and when I'm shooting it seems like I am injecting for 5 minutes before the rod stops. And then dipping the eye dip takes a bit of patience too.

I'll be shooting a new "frog box" full of various colors now to take along when I hit the pads in the Mississippi backwaters.....if the water levels ever drop. I might have to go to my local bass pond to toss a few of these. Those 14" bass hit garbage trucks they're so hungry so these shouldn't pose a problem.

Bass Tackle has a 10 inch swim bait, Tom, if you want a decent sized bait.  Or you could just buy a 14 Inch Ribbon Tail Worm

I'm actually looking to get the 4". I have shot some 4.5"s from bears and they are really big. Do you have a photo
comparison of the 3, 3.5 and 4?

I'm looking to use a 5/0 Trokar Magnum swimbait hooks with it. If it will fit in a 3.5 I might choose that one.

It does indeed take a LOT of plastic, but to me this is the size to have.  I purposely chose the 4" to make the strongest disturbance on the surface and in the slop... if you get short strikes, give them a better target with a brighter belly... I personally would not go any smaller.  (I do have the 1.75" croaker, but this is to use as a mini-craw/nymph imitation, not a top water bait.)

The Lake Fork Lizard also takes an awfully big squirt of plastic as well... It's been a while since I shot it, but I think it actually might take more to fill it than the big Croaker. 

Now, if there ever was a bait that an artist like yourself could really get extravagant with, it would have to be that lizard... lots of legs, a tail, a well separated head, and of course a thick wide body... it would totally be your playground!
