firetiger / perch color jig!
« on: 06/11/14 23:25 UTC »
I been pouring jigs for almost 2years and only do powder paint so my detail with jigs lack. I will admit I fail at artistic skills so most of my work js very simple. I love the creativity and details guys can do with jigs or other baits so I hope to add a spray gun for liquid paints to my shop sometime in the near future. I will be giving  this color a major work out while I am north of the border (Canada ) for a week coming up in 7days!!!!!

Joe,

I think they are a great color combo and I bet they will do some damage in Canada.  Thanks for sharing.

Hey, 'em are pretty dern cool.   Nice work  ;)

You've no reason to diminish or talk down your own skills, there's a lot of people that wish they could do what you've just done w/out totally jacking it up in the end.

I'm one of those that Jerry is talking about.  I do a lot of powder painting, but my results fall far short of your work.  Good job, Joe.
Until next time.

You are very modest, those look fantastic, and I will tell you that there aren't many that can do multi color powder paint and make it look that good. I love the color combos a well as how clean they look with a distinct separation of color and that in itself is not easy to do as powder paint expands and blends into the surrounding paint when you put it on. You have some skills without a doubt, don't sell yourself short, I've been at this a long time and I'd be proud of those!!

Very nice - keep seeing different mix's called fire tiger.  I did these ones in 2007 when I was first learning to brush tap powder paint.

What is the correct fire tiger mix or are there several???  Cause I do like yours!!!

There are multiple fire tiger patterns but the traditional would be green top chartreuse body with an orange belly.

I have done them in multiple variations and they all pull fish.

Thanks for all the good words. I am overly jealous with most of the work I have seen from some of you guys on here granite a crankbait has a bit more area to "detail" vs a 1/4-3/8oz jig but after it is setting in i feel this color combo should be great.

I posted it as a perch/firetiger as I have had mixed reviews some guys say its a perch colored jig others say firetiger. Either way i think it should work. I hope so atleast!

Thanks again

They are great looking jigs and should rip a few lips without a problem. The fact that you're using powder paint is an amazing feat, heck doing 2 colors with that stuff is a pain in the neck.

Hey Joe - I'm jealous! That top Firetiger rendition is awesome - with Kelly Green-gold-burnt orangish look to it - I would fish that in a heartbeat.  I bet the fish love it too!  Some of my hottest colors aren't the "standard jewelry look" - Rather - they are the ones the fish voted on!  I think you should call it "admire tiger"  8)

There is traditional fire tiger and then there is "outside the box" fire tiger. The beauty of making your own is that you can adjust things to suit what you want in addition to the traditional. There are a lot of times that traditional translates to "stuck in a rut".
