Two new farmers market wool
« on: 07/08/14 16:33 UTC »
Got two new hanks of wool = tangerine and teal at the farmers market

Almost bought a buffalo hide at a yard sale but the guy wanted to sell both the buffalo and a black bear hide together and wouldn't split them up.  The black bear had to have come from a younger bear as the hair was really short and the skin was all beat up.

Well yes actually I do know how to knit - My grandma taught me when I was little, but getting hooked on fishing and making tackle pushed it to the side!!  Knit one pearl two!!LOL

Would like to see sample of what you make with it? Will separate into strands to make a jig or do you use it to make flies?
May your days be filled with sun shine and you always have a tight line. AMEN

Here's a couple that I tied previously - these are wool and satin fiber jigs

Translucent candy Raspberry head, light pink wool maroon satin strips and wiggle eyes -

Translucent candy teal head with teal wool and blue satin strips

both paints are Columbia Coating powders

The wool is awesome Fatman, I love the satin fibers. I was making them for crappie and for some reason the bluegill would not stop hitting them, it was just incredible. I will tell you though, you make a mean wool jig, no doubt about it.

Thanks for the kind words!!  The little tools I made with both sides of velcro really make tying them easy.

With all the wool from the farmers market and what I got from ebay

and 2" wide strips of satin (got mine from JoAnnes Fabrics) you can tie a LOT of fish catching jigs.

This is how you split the fibers and get the really shiny ones.

And have to agree the sunfish and perch like em for some reason too!!!
