Jerky, round one
« on: 11/15/14 13:24 UTC »
The first batch is out of the smoker and finishing in the oven. Some hickory. some apple, and a little pear made up the smoke for this batch and will likely do tomorrow's batch as well. Good stuff.

I was going to play with some molds again today but it has decided to snow again so the plastic will have to wait. We are forecast to get 3-4 inches or more but at the current rate we'll see that much sometime next week. I'm thinking the system bringing this little dab has ventured closer to the Do-It chums than here. Its early yet so we'll see how the snow plays out. If I can move the van out without turning it white I'll do some shooting otherwise that's on hold.

Got the sick stuffed. Man, that's some good filling based on what I fried up after cleaning the stuffer parts. I'm not sure the kids will be getting any of this. I'm going to get it up to the 190 degrees in the oven and then tomorrow...warmer tomorrow they say....it'll go into the smoker for a couple hours. Then I dine in earnest while I finish the other jerkys..
