FLW Update (Potomac)!!!
« on: 09/30/11 18:10 UTC »
I got a call from Vince and he is in 5th place heading into day 3 on the Potomac.  He said today his big fish (may take Big Bass for the tourny) and 2 of his other keepers came off the Mud Bug.

Vince is less than a pound behind second place.

Let's root Vince on tomorrow!!!

Great job Vince!!!

He is definitely in the hunt.  One good fish is a game changer here.

Co-angler is a "tough living" in most tourneys these days.  Thats a good show in anybody's book.  Congratulations Vince.

Ditto that! Your at the mercy of the angler many times so you really have to be on your game!

Excellent finish!!!!!!

I think it is a huge tribute to his skills.  I talk to him on a regular basis and know he is making changes on the fly (apparently the right ones).

I also think it is so cool to see someone who makes their own baits have success with them.  If you went back and looked at his weights and his pros weights each day of all the tournaments you would see more often than not he was out fishing the pro, from the back of the boat, using baits he made (I'm guessing 80% of the time).  I know several of the tournaments it was basically the Carrot vs the pro using a Senko - the Carrot more often than not would catch better fish.

I could go into specific detail about different baits, but that's really Vince's place.  If you guys have any questions or comments for Vince you should post them.  I'm pretty sure he will answer them.

Congradulations Vince! If you ever get the time I would love to know how you fish the carrots and other Caney Creek Baits.

Hi everyone and thanks

I want to thank Jason for making such awesome molds!!

Jason is right I used Caney Creek baits at everyone one of the FLW Everstart tournaments here in the northeast this year. I used the Carrot mostly. My biggest bass came on the new Mud Bug.

Muskygary- I fished the 5" and 6" skinny Carrot wacky rigged most of the time on a weighted Mustad hook. This week I fished the Mud Bug flipping thick grass matts with a 1oz. weight pegged. I fished the Zipper worm, Super Stinger, Glider and a 5" skinny Carrot all drop shoting for smallies at Lake Eire and 1000 Island. If you have any more question please ask.

Again Thanks
Vince
