Blade Bait Decals
« on: 12/29/14 22:30 UTC »
Bob Reinke from Reinke Brothers in Milwaukee (One of the biggest Do-It dealers since .... forever) is going to carry these blade decals by spring.  He gave me some samples to try and they have been awesome on Lake Michigan.  They are some type of holographic oil slick color.  When they move in the light they are blue and green and yellow and orange and purple.... you get the idea.  The photo doesn't do them justice.  Full light spectrum!

Very nice!
Those look a lot like the holographic foil I put on some of my slab jigs.

Thanks guys,

These decals are not from Do-It.  I'm not sure where Reinke is getting them.  He doesn't have them in stock right now, but he will by the end of winter.

I top coated these because I airbrushed a little green and purple on the head and a little pearl white on the belly.

Are they just going to be for the vibrating blades or will there be some for the shad blades as well? I love that type of finish, Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnows are finished with a holographic tape and when we would have stained water with a little sun in the sky, they would get hammered as you could see the flash and it was all kinds of color, not just a single bright flash but a bunch of color and I'd think that would be more natural.

I had a buddy print some black carbon fiber decals for my blade baits.  Not sure about the flash but I think it will work fairly well.

I really like that! I've been making Blade Baits all winter (thanks to the inspiration from Marc) I wish someone with some artistic talent (that' s not me!) would sell some really nice Bait Bait stickers!

I would buy those ....regardless of price!

Andy, all the fancier I need is the silver body with a dip in UV powder paint (primarily to keep the lead from dulling, but also to brighten it for some of the deeper water presentations).   A few other of my blade baits might get a chart paint job with a few red highlights, but silver/UV is the mainstay among my Sonar type baits... no art with me either.
