I'm off to see the wizard....

Yup. None other than Mr. Skarlis. Seems he's doing a seminar at our local marine dealer and I want to be there a little ahead to give him a treat.

Man...what a great speaker. And knowledgeable. Quite a crowd for being a small marine dealer. I never get tired of Tommy's seminars.

Wish he'd get close to Indiana, I'd love to hear him speak.

The man is simply a talent. On the water or off, he is a super guy to spend time with.

Do-It's very own Kyle was shown in several tournament pictures too. I see I need to spend some time with Kyle showing him how to thread his belt thru all the loops though. One nice picture shows him with the belt missing from a loop in the front of his pants and he certainly looked a little whimpy wearing cold weather bibs in Florida. lol Maybe they were rain gear? Regardless, Kyle has earned his share too and deserves some congrats along with Tommy and his successes.

Think we could get Do-it to put on a seminar with Tommy and bait making as well as fishing? I'd drive up the day before just to attend it and I'll bet others would to!

Tommy lives not to far from the office and is involved in different aspects of what we do around here including new product development.  He would have been involved in the last get together, but was already scheduled to be out of state.  There is some discussion of another get together and he would most likely be involved.  When it comes time to make it happen, we can put together some topics or program.  He is best utilized in small doses.... :D

Kyle and Tommy's passion is for walleye but they are developing quite the reputation for themselves on the Bass Pro Crappie Masters Tournament Series.  After winning the National Championship the year before, they just traveled down to Florida last month where they placed second in that event.

I could spend 10 hours talking to him and not tire of it.

I just needed a whole new belt Tom!  And you guessed right, those were bibs in Florida.  It was a balmy 38 degrees with wind when we launched in the mornings with the wind coming right down the shoot.  It felt like an October morning launching the boat to go duck hunting.  Somehow between catching all of those fish and having to check out of our hotel room before we could plop down in the hot seat I never did get them taken off.  ;D

38 in Florida. It was 10 degrees warmer than that when I stepped out on the dock this morning. Not a whisper of wind and the diving ducks are started northward.

I was watching a few shows on the DVR this weekend and seen Tommy Skarlis on not one, but two of them!  First one was on crappie masters tv.  They were fishing in South Carolina and looks like they were doing well.  Second show was NWT.  They were fishing south of me on Lake Winnebago, and again were sitting pretty going into the third and final day of the tournament.  Way to go Mr. Skarlis!
