If you are powder painting you need not clear coat.

I powder paint them  and after I bake 'em I use CS clear coat (or CS Clear coat with UV) to give them that nice shiny look.

You don't need to do it....but they look really nice!

After powder painting and baking, I attach the eyes with gel glue, let set for 24 hours and dip in UV Clear Coat.

I should have been more specific. I powder paint the jigs, and I want to paint some detail on them with an air brush. What type of paint should I use? and should I clear coat them . If so what kind of clear coat should I use?    Thanks

I just use a Sharpie pen if I want to add little things like stripes or to make a simple eye on my jigs - quarter ounce and under. I don't bother clear coating my jigs because they usually don't last too long due to rocks and snags taking them or pounding the heck out of them. That's the beauty of making your own stuff, it doesn't take much to replace the stuff you lose.
