which hooks can I use in new Herring mold?

Curious what other style hooks can be used in new Herring mold?

I just got my order from do-it it was a struggle waiting for it Lol (felt like a kid on X'mas)

I mainly walleye fish and use similar round ball jigs with small spinner so was kinda excited to see this mold. Although I did not do a lot research waiting for mold and see the 1/4-1/2oz jigs take a 5/0 hook and the price for 100 of gamakastu ones almost gave me a heart attack as I am use to buying 1000 matzuo sickle for price of 100 gammies.

So I am hoping to find a ec,vmc, mustad, gammi that will work in this mold but not clean out my bank account.

I did try the 3/0 and 4/0 eagle claw 574 which I had issues with mold pouring completely

I see some leakage by the barb but that isn't too bad.  I see some wrinkles and such which has me thinking your lead, mold,  or both may be too cold.  That could be the culprit as to why it isn't filing out the mold properly. I really like the fact that this mold offers both a barb for plastics and also a collar for tying onto it.   This jig will see plenty of action this spring on the Mississippi!

Haven't got my mold yet (it's on the way) but it should take a lot of 90 degree hooks. Just have to try different sizes and types. Hope the Little Nastys work in it.

I could be wrong and should have tried the 3/0 sickle hook but there would not be much hook left with this style
But for me if I paint jig and tip it with a minnow you don't need 1.25-1.75" of hook there ( since it is a bass jig for running plastics) my theory may be wrong but hey this is why I pour my own the possibilities are endless

Poured 200 of those today.  I used the EC 3052.  That means that the Mustad 32746 should work also.

Only problem I noticed is that the hook is VERY close to the bottom part of the collar shank and it's almost impossible to get them all to fill 100% on the collar shank.
