Crappie Carrot Performance Evaluation

Mold – The crappie carrot mold is easy to inject and makes great baits nearly every time.  If you have just a couple of molds you can produce 100’s of jigs in short order.  Although for some the 2.5” and 3” appears to be a little too big for crappie they will surprisingly work wonders.  It is quickly becoming a trend to use bigger baits for crappie fishing and the payoff is, well big!   If, however, you prefer smaller baits the 2.5” tail mold will produce a 1.75” bait whose diameter and length are very comparable to most baits on the market.

Tail Mold – The tail molds are very easy to inject and can be used in the 2.5” and 3” molds with relative ease.  The flexibility of the tail molds makes production of two color professional looking baits a snap.   It is a huge advantage to produce custom colors of your liking which the fish have never seen.

Fishing Performance -  Simply put the Crappie Carrot is a FISH catching machine!  They work wonders on crappie however be prepared because they catch anything that swims.  In our trial trips we have caught crappie, white bass, black bass and multiple wall hanger walleye!  I have spent the last two afternoons experimenting with this bait in comparison to other proven baits – there is no comparison.  Yesterday, a warm winter afternoon, we caught several more crappie on the crappie carrot than other jigs.  Last night a harsh cold front came through (yesterday’s high was 62 while today’s high was 26), we didn’t expect to catch much however the crappie carrot consistently produced while we never caught a fish on other jigs.
