Poured my 1st lams with 2.5" swim fry....
« on: 11/24/11 11:55 UTC »
Well, I finally had time to try some lams today.  Also was the 1st time I've had to pour my new 2.5" swim fry mold.

Jason......THIS MOLD ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm glad I decided to go with it instead of having you make the regular curl tail we talked about!

As for the lams....lets just say I have some practicing to do.  ::)  Quickly realized how important it is to have the same amount of plastic in your injectors before trying to shoot.

All in all though I think I'm hooked on lams......just don't like the extra waste but will someday have enough to take to the recyling place if I can find one local I guess.  :(

Anyway, I was just excited about the new mold.  thanks for letting me ramble.  I'd post pics but lets just not go there....they do not look good!  ???

Happy Thanksgiving all!
God Bless!

It's all over for you; now. You are past the point of no return  :'(.
The laminated sprues can be the starting point for some neat color creations.   And; theres always black, and real dark colors.  One of my neatest colors came from a white pearl belly and blue with silver glitter back laminate.  I played with the sprue remelts. Added some pearl silver smoke, more blue, and blue hi-light and a touch of black and I got a really neat Steel Blue.
