Hair for buzz baits

Does anyone use hair for buzz baits or spinnerbaits? I'm thinking on doing a black marabou with green mylar for a buzzbait to simulate a dragon fly.

The only negative I can think of is the Marabou will soak up water and make it heavy, so it might be harder to keep on top. As a spinner bait it will be killer

If you're going to use hair for a spinnerbait or buzzbait I'd look at buck tail. Mo Quack is right, marabou absorbs water and it will compress so in addition to possibly making it hard to keep on top, the profile will be smaller than you want. Marabou is great for certain types of in-line spinners but they are fished differently with slight pauses and lifts and drops. I like the dragonfly element but do it with buck tail instead of marabou and you'll be good to go.

Thank you. I've watched most of your videos so far and learned a lot about tying.

Moose mane, black bear, and yak hair would work also.  JStockard has arctic goat with some nicely dyed colors

I'm thinking I need some arctic goat hair. If nothing else while standing around after a tournament to tell my friend what I caught them on. I'm thinking less then 1% would believe me.
