The 3.5 Tube

  I love this bait. I have caught so many fish off this bait and it's so easy to fish. This is one I shouldn't show you but it is so easy to make and it adds a new twist to the tube. I simply make the tube in 4 oz plastic and one drop 2x black with 40 purple flake. Then I dip it in in 4 oz plastic 4 drops CC green and 40 black flake. The results are a fish catching magnet. The results are a little hard to see in the photo. But you get the idea.

  Do you like the 3.5'' size the best Lamar?

 Yes I think I do. The 3 is just a little on the short size when I rig it as a stupid tube. When I make it like this it gives the 3.5 a little more bulk. Plus this color combo may not be the prettiest bait out there but works well. I've always felt that by dipping it gives it an uneven surface which gives it a weird fall.

I have the 4" tube and sure like what can be done with it. That layering Lamar is a slick idea....I haven't tried that yet.

Most of my tubes are built for Lake Trout but I have cooked up a few for a couple buddies who fish walleyes using them as a dead-stick type of bait....just drop the tube/jig down to the bottom, take up a couple feet of line and set the rod in a holder and wait for the hit. The do amazingly well on rods set up like that.
