Is .31 the diameter or lb.  haven't looked into wire but going to now.  Then wire keepers are pretty proud priced

.31 is diameter. The underspin forms are heavier than that but I find .31 suitable for both.

I think you mean .031 and not .31.

.31 wire is pretty heavy stuff.
