Hey Guys

I would please like to know if there is anyone part of the forum who owns the Del Mart SFZ 5'' Fluke mold? Id appreciate some info and some photos of the lure that it makes. Thank you.

For the Mind-bogglingly-popular Superfluke-type of Snatchbait Mold, I would get Do-it's Forktail...just my $0.02 on that...unless You've found the Del at a steal of a price.

Me personally, I am a Fan of the Carrots for this application.

Thanks for a response BKJ.

The Do it fork tail does definitely look good but seems to have a stocky body around the hook keeper area if I look at the pictures correctly.

I'll have a look at the carrots, Thanks.

Okey, your opinions got me thinking. Is there someone on the forum that may be able to send me some photos of the Forktail next to a ruler? I love the shape of the entire bait, but like I said, I'd just like to put the body part where the hook goes into perspective? It looks a bit bulky for me.

Please and thanks

You can order a sample pack for $5 and give them a good.

I don't think you'll have any issues with them being too wide....I've caught a LOT of 12" bass on Them!

I use the on the Underspin jigs and bass..
And especially walleye and sauger love them!

There are several details that keep me away from the Wutz-it/SuperFluke-style of baits, and the Mass that is in the Square Body is one of those details...that, IMO, is a lot of plastic for the hook to contend with in the Hook-set...and in that, that's one of the reasons I like the Carrots.  The Carrots have enough diameter for me but they're Round, and the Corners of a Square Body adds a lot of plastic that a Round Body doesn't have....

...and why I started this Thread...

The 5" Regular Carrot, listed as 5" Carrot (not 5" Skinny Carrot), is 1/2" diameter, and is my 5" Snatchbait of Choice.

Can be Fished Tail Horizontal (Flat) or Tail Vertical (Baitfish-style).

I see your point BKJ and will say I like the bulk of the wutz-it because I want to fish it on a jig. The thinner style baits like this aren't quite enough plastic to keep on a jig.

A wire keeper does help this situation though.

Roger on'nat der Mike.  The bulkier baits definitely have their advantages!

The 5" Carrot, 1/2" Diameter...

In my opinion they are mostly interchangeable. At least the way I fish them. I don't have the wutz-it but do fish some fluke style baits. I have the finesse worm and fish it the same way with the same results. Either bait gets solid thumps from walleyes and saugers this time of year.

The different ways to rig them for bass is something I'm always learning here. Although I don't fish large mouths I can still learn from the different ways people fish for them.

I really appreciate the response guys.

One thing you guys have to remember is that I am from South Africa. Hence all my questions, I have to be totally sure before buying a mold due to the expense of not only buying in a foreign weaker currency but also courier and import fees. I can also not just exchange it.
So that's why I need to do a lot of research and also want to see how they look.

Thanks BKJ I really enjoy the forum and all the people!!

So even though I have the Senko mold, you will still recommend the carrot stix as an alternative for the flukes? See my goal is to slowly get a variety of mold in order for me never to have to go to a store and buy plastics.

Slowly ??  :o :o  That doesn't happen around here much. Once you get the bug then good luck with that idea. I would like suggested order the sample pack. That way you could have five different baits to look at. You might because of how far away you are order two packs for down the road use. We all have molds once we got them we didn't like the size or what ever of the bait and should have got the sample pack first.
