X2?

Are there any other places that has the X2 colorant? Do-It doesn't have the colors I need listed on their site.

That is why I went to a color wheel.
I like the X2 pigment but they don't have Orange.
Red and Yellow make Orange and now I have a belly for my Fire Tiger baits.

I have 2x orange. If they are out of stock then they don't show it but that doesn't mean they don't make it.

If the colors aren't listed on the Web it's because they are temporarily out. And they have fluorescent orange wich is transparent. If you add white it's will be opaque orange.

Check around for Essential colorants from Do-It. They're about the same, just smaller bottles and about 1/2 as potent. Still, they'll get the job done if you can find the color you need.

Good thinking Tom. I might get some essential in colors I like to go light on since they are less potent. Would make it easier to make smoke colors.

They make the colors I need in the X2 but for the past month or so they haven't had any listed. I'm currently running extremely low on what I need. You'd think if they make the stuff they would have it available fairly quick.

Do-It is about the best company around for getting stock items back on the shelves so hold tight. Shouldn't take long.

I have several, well ok, lots, of M-F colors and a whole pile of colors that I have no idea from where they came but my mainstay is the X2. I'm also a fanatic about saving those partial cups of cooked colors should I happen to run low on colorant. I don't run low very often. In fact I can't recall ever getting low. But those cooked plugs have come in darned handy from time to time so think about holding onto a few of those colors you may get low on.

In a pinch you can add a bit of raw plastic to your color bottle that's getting low, shake it up and just add a couple more drops to your recipe.

As a rule I find that Spike-It [Lure works] colors are very thin and take a lot to get rich color. I have a couple from there that do a reasonable job but otherwise avoid colorants from there.

I'll disagree there tom, I find spike it's to be quite reasonable, not 2x thick or 3x like do it or bait junkies but Usually around 1-2 drop per oz.
Mf on the other hand I find too thin.

In fact spike it flouro Orange has been the best Orange I've used, far prefer a colour I can mixin hot.

Like computer monitors, we don't all see things the same. I got rid of all but two of my Spike-It colors...gave them away.

Spike It (Color Technologies rather) is one of the largest suppliers to the soft plastic industry (Not just the hobby side but the major manufacturers). I have yet to see any of their colour/flake etc be out of stock (may happen but I bet it isn't long before its back) or have a problem getting what I need from them. Their pre-cut liquid colourants are plenty dense, far more than most you will find from MF or LureCraft. In fact the medium they use to cut the raw paste with is quite thick (not just plasticizer like most resellers) meaning you get less settling in their colours and they're a lot easier to mix after they've been sitting. It's really one of the best colourants out there (i'm just a customer of theirs and in no way paid or given anything free to say anything or promote their products, I still use a few things from MF and LureCraft etc.)

I understand this is Do It's forum, if this post in any way violates anything or is not appreciated by Do It then those running the forum can feel free to delete it.
