Are you shooting the mold on its side so the rod doesn't move out of position?

No, I shoot it as normal.  I made the rod to perfectly fit in the Chub Grub mold, so it is centered there, but it's just set in loose on the Smokin' Shad and gravity pulls it more into the back.

That's very cool. I think that would be the best way to do tail colors on 2 color baits. No fear of delamination, easier to handle parts for placing back in the molds, all around a great method. Thanks for the efficiency lesson efishnc.
