I'm thinking about trying a carrot with that type of rig. With a bait keeper with the hook through it to make the action as erratic as possible. I'm trying to find those tiny o-rings that would be used to hold the bait keeper on the hook?

Go to a phamacy and pick up a package of the rubber bands used for braces. Assorted sizes and affordable.

Those are the weedless part but I'm referring to the little black ones that you slide on the hook itself. One before the keeper and one after to keep it in place?

Great idea Tom, I like to use them for weed guards. Rigging the carrot nose hooked using those bands as a weed guard will allow the most amazing action and you can run it through just about anything! I prefer the clear bands but I have been thinking about trying colors to match the bait.

Thank you btw. Never even thought of doing the weedless part!

These may work:

Don't know if they will accommodate a larger bait but it should be able to be rolled down a 4" carrot.

I'm going to call you. You're close to the size but needs to be smaller. I think I'm just explaining it poorly.

Can't you just screw it into the bait insert the hook then continue to snug it up against the hook with the weedless setup I would think you'd have no problem there. But I do know what your talking about those o-rings were micro sized.

Drew possibly found a place to get them but it's out of New York so they're currently closed. I think I have some of the stuff at home if I do I will post a rigged example of a 5 inch carrot when I get home. I think it will give a bait that already has an amazing action that much more!

Ok, found exactly what you were looking for after it was explained.

https://www.banjominnowstore.com/Store/p-138-o-rings.aspx

I do NOT! know the validity of the website due to it's security cert. being expired. I tried to contact the Banjo Minnow customer service but they are east coast based and have shut down until Thursday morning @ 9AM est. I will be calling on Thursday to update this post and get the info on the validity of that site before I make a purchase.

For anyone who is confused:

The rig he was wanting to setup is an octopus style hook with an o-ring slid over the point past the barb then a bait keeper slid down over the point to sit against the o-ring than another o-ring placed past the barb so the bait keeper will not come off. Then screwing the bait keeper into the nose of the carrot to allow INSANE action.

I would add a gum band (bracer rubber band) to make it weedless!

The rig would be amazing for so many applications, once I verify that site I will let the forum know.

I've pondered using part of their system before, mostly with Carrots.  Buy the Eyes with the wire Eye in front.  Use a small Hole/Plug Cutter to punch a hole through the Head to take the Eyes and maybe use a Hook Point to pierce the Nose of the bait to let the Wire Eye through.  That'd be my way...just throwin' this out there too.  Twitch twitch, pause...

I think I know what you're referring to and it's the newer way the said product is rigged. Back when it first came out they didn't use that through the eye plastic rig I think you're talking about. The bait itself had eyes and they just used a bait keeper into the head. The original would be a lot easier to reproduce and I think I have found the said O-rings to finish the puzzle. I found a 1/32 inside diameter O-ring and I'm trying to get a measurement to see if it would be small enough to hold onto the wire of a hook.

This place I found has a much better price then what drew found we just need to see if it's small enough to do the job.

I really want to throw this setup with a 3.5" carrot at some small mouth with maybe a #2 hook and see how it goes!

And maybe a 2/0 with the 5" regular carrot in the spring both weightless. Think it would make for a heck of a jerk bait setup.
